WYANET — Pearl Mary Hand, 79, of Wyanet passed away Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013, at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton.
Born March 31, 1934, in DePue to Raymond Hedges and Charlotte (Piacyk) Byczynski, she married Willis Hand Nov. 3, 1951, in Bettendorf, Iowa. He survives.
She attended LaMoille High School. She was a life-long homemaker, was an EMT for 25 years and worked at Gateway Services. She was a founder and dedicated member of the Wyanet Rescue Unit.
Also surviving are three children, Ricky D. (Sandy) Hand of Princeton, Bruce Hand of Wyanet and Darcy (Vincent) Pugh of Fort Wayne, Ind.; 10 grandchildren, Sandy, Dana, Randy, Josh, Jennifer, Alison, Jessica, Jordan, Jadyn and Jetta; numerous great-grandchildren; and five sisters.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter and one sister.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Elm Lawn Memorial Park Chapel, Princeton. Burial will follow in Elm Lawn Memorial Park.
