Nichols’ eagle just second-best shot
Ian Nichols had one of the best shots of the day in Tuesday’s Three Rivers Athletic Conference golf meet at Spring Creek, holing out from about 165 yards for an eagle 3 on the 365-yard 14th hole.
Tiger coach Duane Price said it was simply a “great moment for a great young man.”
Price said the hole itself “is one of the toughest on the course with its sloping fairway and pond in front of the green. I was on the tee helping our team with strategy for the hole because the tee shot is so crucial on the hole. I joked that it must have been his strategy from the tee that made the second shot so easy.”
