Pete Mautino didn’t get to compete for medals at the Three Rivers Athletic Conference golf meet last week, disqualified for inadvertently playing the wrong ball.
He made the most of his next chance, placing second at Saturday’s LaSalle-Peru Invitational at Senica’s Oak Ridge Golf Course. The Hall senior shot a 77 to take runner-up honors in the small/medium school division, just two strokes off of medalist Sam Gillen of Monmouth-Roseville.

Zach Hicks and Ian Nichols both shot 84s to lead Princeton. Also for the Tigers, Colby Robbins carded an 86, Bryce Nyman a 102 and Miles a 106.
For Hall, Nick Scheri came in at 84, Zach Vanderpool at 92, Ryan Ott and Aaron Mitchell at 97 and Matt Hoscheid at 99.
