At Sterling: Bureau Valley placed third in pool play and went on to capture the bronze division championship at Saturday’s Sterling Invitational.

The Storm (14-6) got off on a good start by taking the first set over Sterling 20-15. The Warriors bounced back to top the Storm 20-7, 15-8. The Storm finished 1-2 in pool play, defeating Peoria Christian 20-13, 20-15 while falling to Pecatonica 21-19, 21-11.

In bronze division tournament play, the Storm defeated Prophetstown 17-20, 21-19,15-12 and Rochelle 25-11, 25-16.

At Byron: Princeton placed 10th in Saturday’s Byron Power Classic sophomore tournament. The Tigresses split pool play matches with Eastland and Woodstock and lost to LaSalle-Peru in match play, they beat Putnam County 2-0 before losing to Oregon 2-0 in the ninth-place match.
