WYANET — The third annual Wyanet Cemetery Walk will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
Graves to be visited will include Dr. F.C. Robinson who was an early doctor of Wyanet. Besides being a doctor for many years, he drove one of the first "horseless" carriages in Wyanet. In one of his many biographical sketches he refers to being a proud subscriber and reader of the Bureau County Republican for more than 40 years.
Other graves being visited will include S.F. Crossett, a station agent for the three-story station west of town where the Burlington and ld Rock Island lines cross; Clarence "Buster" Sapp, who locked through boats on the Hennepin Canal; Deborah Anthony, a grand niece of the famous author Charles Dickens; and others.
Participants are asked to bring a flashlight and park on the street, not in the cemetery. They should meet at the cannon and be prepared for a fun and educational event. Refreshments will be served after the event.
