Water tower work in Walnut
WALNUT — Water tower maintenance in Walnut is set to begin next week.
Walnut Village Superintendent Carl Minks told the Walnut Village Board the maintenance on the water tower scheduled for this fall has been delayed, probably until the spring because the village was unable to secure a water storage tank to be used by local residents while the water tower was under repair.
However on Tuesday, the village was able to secure a 10,000 gallon hydro pneumatic tank from Coating and Inspection Service of Eureka, Mo. The cost for the tank is $4,320 per month, plus a $2,000 delivery and pick-up fee. If the repair requires more than a month, there will be an additional charge of $250 a week or $1,270 a week.
