Lady Lions fourth at LTC

LaMoille/Ohio Lady Lions didn’t come home with the trophy they set their sights on, but nonetheless claimed fourth place in the Little Ten Conference volleyball tournament. They lost to Hinckley-Big Rock 25-9, 25-22 in Friday’s third-place match.

Rae Schultz led the Lady Lions (14-6) with 21 points. Shiela Browning and Elizabeth Geuther had four kills. Ragen Forbes had 12 digs.

“We didn’t have an answer for HBR’s tough serving and over all we were not ourselves tonight,” said coach Hallie May. “We will see HBR on Tuesday in a regular season conference game to defend our 6-0 conference record.”

On Thursday, LaMoille/Ohio fell to Somonauk 23-25, 25-22, 25-22. Browning had a team-high 10 kills and Erika Zimmerlein added eight. Erin Bennett added seven points with two aces and 11 assists.

St. Bede 2, Rockridge 0: The Lady Bruins (13-12, 5-3) rolled to their sixth straight victory, defeating the Rockets 25-13, 25-12 Thursday. Olivia Mueller (8 kills, 1 block), Claire Dudek (5 kills, 1 block) and Hanna Bima (2 blocks) led the charge up front, Morgan Bosnich aced the service line with 17 points, five aces and 16 assists while Morgan King had 13 digs.

Orion 2, Hall 0: Ellen Herrmann and Vanessa Olivares each had four kills in defeat for the Lady Devils Wednesday. Kaylee Golden had seven digs and Lexi Piccatto had six digs.
