Michael Scott

SHEFFIELD — Michael L. Scott, 59, of Princeton, formerly of Sheffield passed away Oct. 9, 2013, at his home in Princeton.

Born May 29, 1954, in Kewanee to Max E. & Dorothy "Cheryl" (Puffer) Scott, he married Gail Lottens June 6, 1981, in Sheffield. They divorced.

He was a 1972 graduate of Western High School. He attended Northern Illinois University for two years. He worked for the village of Sheffield and was the water superintendent for the city of Princeton for many years.

He was a member of Princeton Elks Lodge 2129 and St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Sheffield. He enjoyed fishing, canoeing and hunting. He was an avid White Sox and Green Bay Packer fan.

Surviving are his father, Max E. Scott of Sheffield; one brother, Richard A. (Cynthia) Scott of Mineral; three nieces, Carrie (Daniel) Wilson of Mineral, Amanda Scott of Morton and Brittany (Stephen Matheny) Scott of Geneseo; one great-niece, Alexis Wilson of Mineral; one great-nephew, Zane Matheny of Geneseo; and his cat, Kitty.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Princeton, with Father Mark Miller officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Sheffield.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton.
