The final school bell
DOVER — Longtime Princeton educator Diane Nyman died Thursday evening in her home. She was 57.
For years, Nyman was an institution in the Princeton Elementary School District. First a student in the PES and Princeton High School districts, she later found her calling and ultimately her chosen career in the same hallways in which she walked, studied and played.
According to PES records, Nyman began her career as a Title 1 reading teacher. Between 1979 and 1983, she taught fifth-grade social studies, Title 1 reading, and then third grade at Jefferson Elementary School in Princeton. She eventually found her way to her third-grade classroom at Lincoln Elementary School, where she taught in the same classroom for the past 29 years. Nyman retired last year.
