Movie night

MALDEN — The Malden After-School Program is hosting a movie night in the Malden Grade School gymnasium Saturday. They will be showing “Hotel Transylvania.” Doors open at 6 p.m. and the movie starts at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $3 at the door. Concessions will be available to purchase.

Dance

PRINCETON — In celebration of Nightmare on Fairgrounds Road’s 10th year, there will be a dance of the living dead from 10 p.m. to midnight Oct. 19 in Building 3 at the fairgrounds. There will be surprises, a live DJ, karaoke and a costume contest with prizes for best costume, scary, ironic and funny. There is a $5 admission fee and creatures must be 21 or older to attend.

Buckets of love

PERU — Zonta International is holding a Buckets of Love drive at the Hy-Vee in Peru from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. They will be collecting basic household items. The Zonta Club of LaSalle-Peru invites all Illinois Valley residents to join them in this domestic violence awareness event. The items are used to help families set up a safe household after leaving an abusive situation.

Alzheimer’s support

HENRY — Heartland Health Care Center will host a free Alzheimer’s support group meet from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the center, 1650 Indian Town Road in Henry. The public is invited to attend. Ideas about planning for the holidays will be shared. Refreshments will be served; no reservations are required. For more information, call 309-364-3905.

Parent-teacher conferences

PERU — St. Bede Academy will hold parent-teacher conferences from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday for last names starting with A through K and from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday for last names starting with L through Z. Conferences will be held at the academy. Parents who cannot attend on their designated evening can attend on the alternate one. Each teacher will be available for walk-in conferences. Student schedules will be available that night.

Senior care informational meeting

MENDOTA — The Mendota Lutheran Home will sponsor a free program for family, friends and the community about the common myths and facts about senior care at 5 p.m. Oct. 24 in the Mendota Lutheran Home activity room. A light dinner will be served. To R.S.V.P. by Friday, call Connie at 815-539-7439.

Musical tribute

PRINCETON — Festival 56 will host the Legacy Girls, a special Andrews Sisters musical review, at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 2 at the Grace Performing Arts Center, 316 S. Main St., Princeton. The trio performs the hits of the famous Andrews Sisters — “Lullaby of Broadway,” “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy,” “Don’t Fence Me In,” etc. Individual tickets are $18.
