Princeton 6, Sandwich 0: The Tigers ate up Sandwich with three goals in each half Thursday at Tiskilwa to raise their record to 15-3-5 heading into their own regional play as the top seed. Dylan Schaefer had two goals in the first half and Zach Andersen added a third. The Tigers got second half goals by Tyler Marvin and Kai Tomaszewski, capped by an own goal on Sandwich. Princeton finished second at the Orion Tournament. The Tigers beat Riverdale 3-1 and Orion 2-0, but lost to Sterling 2-1. Marvin and Andersen were named to the all-tournament team. DePue 7, Illini Bluffs 0: Coach Tim Stevens said the Little Giants had a little bit of a slow start, but sure picked things up. Carlos Acosta scored a hat trick to raise his career total of 122 goals. Alberto Martinez and Ronaldo Rios added two goals apiece with Acosta tossing in an assist. The Little Giants will take a 13-2 record, their best in school history, into semifinal play as the No. 2 of the Princeton Sectional at Tiskilwa Tuesday vs. Wilmington.
