MENDOTA — A second public forum has been scheduled by the Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC) to hear public comments on the Rock Island Clean Line (RICL) high-voltage transmission line project. The hearing is Oct. 28 at the Mendota High School gym. Sign-up begins at 6 p.m. (arrive early to line up), and the forum will start at 7 p.m.
The opponents of unnecessary transmission line projects are asking the ICC for a moratorium on all proposed projects until a comprehensive study can be done on all eight projects proposed for Illinois. Five or six of the proposed lines would impact areas around Princeton.
