New welcome signs erected in Arlington

Arlington Mayor Dick Koch stands with one of two new signs recently erected on the north and south entrances of the village. The village’s Sesquicentennial Committee donated the funds to have the signs custom-made and placed in the village. The cost of the signs totaled around $6,800. The crest displayed on the signs was one that was originally created for the Arlington Sesquicentennial in 2003. Koch said the signs provide a great first impression to drivers who pass through Arlington. He said first impressions are important for small villages like Arlington, which only has a tavern and post office in the downtown.
