Tigers throttle Coal City
TISKILWA — Not only did Princeton hold Coal City scoreless during the first half Tuesday, but the Tigers kept the Coalers from seriously threatening their net.
Top-seeded Princeton won 10-2 over the Coal City in a semifinal match at the Class 1A Princeton Boys Soccer Regional. The Tigers (15-4-4) will meet Wilmington in the regional championship at 11 a.m. Saturday. Seeded third, Wilmington upset No. 2 DePue 3-2 on penalty kicks in Tuesday’s late semifinal match.
Tyler Marvin contributed a career-high four goals to the Princeton cause — two in each half. The senior, who did not play soccer in 2012, says he has had “three or four” hat tricks this season.
