Lorraine Becker

SUBLETTE — Lorraine Jane Becker, 92, of Sublette, formerly of Dixon, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013, at Green Acres Healthcare and Rehab in Amboy.

Born Feb. 23, 1921, in Dixon to Clarence and Jenny Mae (Anderson) Wickey, she married Vernon Becker Feb. 18, 1948. He preceded her in death on July 19, 2003.

She briefly worked for Northern Illinois Gas and Electric Company.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Dixon, the Lee County Home Extension and local card clubs. She was a volunteer for the local Red Cross blood drives.

Survivors include three sons, Randy Becker of Sublette, and Mark (Laurie) Becker and Chris (Christina) Becker, both of Amboy; two daughters, Kathy (Samir) Nissan of Chico, Calif., and Sara (Robert) Matter of Okanogan, Wash.; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Joan Marie Becker; three brothers, William, Lester and Harry Wickey; and two sisters, Ila and Shirley Wickey.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Oct. 26 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Dixon, followed by an 11 a.m. memorial service, at the church, with the Rev. Leo Patterson officiating. Burial of cremains will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Dixon.

Memorials may be directed to Passages Hospice.

The Preston-Schilling Funeral Home, Dixon, is in charge of arrangements.
