What Bureau County United Way dollars go for …

Bureau County Food Pantry

Filling the gap for families in need — That is what the Bureau County Food Pantry does on a daily basis.

Whether we are providing emergency food to households in need, ensuring kindergarten through eighth-grade students have school supplies, or providing winter coats, hats and gloves to youth in our community, the Bureau County Food pantry is there.

We serve 10 communities within Bureau County — Dover, Kasbeer, Malden, Manlius, New Bedford, Ohio, Princeton, Tampico, Tiskilwa and Van Orin.

During the past year, the food pantry provided food for 1,348 households (or 3,474 individuals); 43 bags of school supplies were distributed to 21 families; and more than 200 coats were distributed to children in need.

The Bureau County Food Pantry is able to continue its work as a result of food and financial donations from churches, community groups, schools, local business and individuals throughout the communities, as well as the Bureau County United Way. We could not continue our work without their support!

Call the Bureau County United Way at 815-872-0821 for information on how you can lend a helping hand to those in need in Bureau County.
