Tuesday regional volleyball update

The curtain has fallen on the 2013 season for Bureau County volleyball. All four remaining teams were eliminated from the postseason Tuesday.

In 1A, LaMoille/Ohio fell to AFC at Paw Paw 22-25, 25-20, 25-21, finishing at 17-12.

At Hall, in 2A, St. Bede was knocked out by top-seeded Fieldcrest 25-11, 25-16. The second match saw El Paso-Gridley top Putnam County 25-15, 25-18. Fieldcrest and EPG will play for the title at 6 p.m. Thursday.

Also in 2A, top-seeded Bureau Valley was surprised by TRAC rival Prophetstown 29-25, 25-12 at Riverdale.

At Streator, in 3A, the Princeton Tigresses bowed out with a 25-11, 25-21 defeat to Morris. The first match saw Mendota force a third set to top-seeded LaSalle-Peru before falling 25-15, 21-25, 25-8. The winners will meet at 6 p.m. at Pops "Dale" Gymnasium.
