Marilyn Nye

TISKILWA — Marilyn J. Nye, 82, of Tiskilwa passed away Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013, at Heartland Health Care Center in Henry.

Born Nov. 2, 1931, in Princeton to Leroy Pierson and Irma (Sutter) Pierson, she married Keith Nye Oct. 18, 1953, at the First Lutheran Church in Princeton. He survives.

She graduated from Tiskilwa High School and St. Francis School of Nursing in Kewanee, where she graduated with her R.N. in 1952. After nursing school she worked as a nurse at Perry Memorial Hospital, Dr. McQueen's office in Tiskilwa and Home Health Care.

She was an active member of First Lutheran Church of Princeton.

Also surviving are one son, Jon (Roxanna) Nye of Buda; one daughter, Mary Leigh (Bruce) Kauzlarich of Moline; four granddaughters, Shana Nye, Mollie Nye, Kayla Kauzlarich and Emily Kauzlarich; one sister, Diane Wampler; one sister-in-law, Janice (Bill) Jamison; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Norberg Memorial Home, Princeton, with Pastor Norman Femrite officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Bloom Cemetery in Tiskilwa.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the First Lutheran Church.
