Practice cancelled

WALNUT — Walnut Cantata practice for today, Tuesday, has been cancelled.

Closed meeting

OGLESBY — The Illinois Valley Community College board’s Closed Session Minutes Committee will meet in closed session in the board room at 5:45 p.m. today, Tuesday, to review minutes of meetings lawfully closed under the Open Meetings Act.

Fire show

PRINCETON — The Apollo Theater will host the artists from the Pyrotechniq Fire Troupe at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in front of the theater. Owner Joachim Schneider has hired the troupe as a special attraction for visitors of “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.”

‘Last of the Red Hot Lovers’

PRINCETON — Festival 56 presents “Last of the Red Hot Lovers,” by Neil Simon at the Grace Performing Arts Center, 316 S. Main St., Princeton. Shows are at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 22, 23, 27, 29 and 30 and at 2 p.m. Nov. 23. The cost is $26 for an adult ticket, $24 for seniors and $13 for students under 18. Christkindl Markt

PRINCETON — A Christkindl Markt, a German Christmas market, will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Open Prairie UCC, 25 E. Marion St. (behind the Apollo Theater). This event is being held as part of the Princeton Main Street Christmas Walk. The event will feature hand-crafted gifts, international cookie bazaar, Advent calendars, fair trade coffees and chocolates. A traditional German lunch will be available. There will also be a free children’s activity — making gingerbread houses. Admission is free. For more information, call 815-872-5150.
