Blood drive

SPRING VALLEY — An American Red Cross blood drive will be from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Margaret’s Hospital in Spring Valley. A blood donor card or driver’s license and two other forms of identification are required at check-in. To make an appointment, call 800-733-2767.

Community worship

PRINCETON — A community Thanksgiving worship service, hosted by the Princeton Ministerial Association, will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the First Presbyterian Church 320 Park Ave. East, Princeton. Fellowship and refreshments will follow.

Thanksgiving dinner

PRINCETON — A free Thanksgiving dinner will be served from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Thursday at Myrtle’s Cafe and Pie in Princeton.

Thanksgiving Eve service

PRINCETON — The First Presbyterian Church of Princeton, 320 Park Ave. East, is hosting an ecumenical Thanksgiving Eve service at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The service will feature song and scripture to begin the holiday season.

Sausage making

ARLINGTON — Members of St. Patrick Church in Arlington will be making sausage on Dec. 7. Orders may be placed by calling Lauren Koch at 815-638-2224 or Ann Hunter at 815-638-2691 by Dec. 2. Sausage will be available for pickup on Dec. 7 at the church hall between 11:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. and on Sunday after the 10:30 a.m. Mass. Members have made sausage to benefit the church in the months of March and December for over forty years using “Nuco” Fonderoli’s family recipe.

Late-night cabaret

PRINCETON — A special Festival 56 late-night cabaret for Neil Simon’s “Last of the Red Hot Lovers” will be at 10 p.m. Friday. Tickets are sold separately and can be purchased in advance at the Festival 56 Box Office or the night of the performance. For tickets, visit or call the Festival 56 Box Office, 815-879-5656, ext. 11. The box office is open from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and an hour before each performance.

Christmas parade

PRINCETON — Entries are being accepted for this year’s Princeton Christmas parade, set for 1:30 p.m. Dec. 7. Entry forms are available at the Chamber office in the Prouty Building or by calling Lion Don Smith at 815-875-3475 or Lion Jim Argo at 815-872-6181.

Parade in Ladd

LADD — Area residents, businesses or organizations are invited to participate in a Snowman Parade at 5 p.m. Dec. 7 as part of “Light Up the Holidays” 2013 Ladd Christmas Walk. The parade will begin on North Main Street and end at Ladd Memorial Park. All snowmen are welcome. Snow is not required. For more information, call 815-894-2092 or email
