A gift to everyone, and it is free
It might be free to us because someone paid the price for it, and what an awesome price it was! He gave his life, so we wouldn’t have to pay for it. That free gift is repentance. If he hadn’t made that sacrifice, none of us would have a very bright future. I know for sure I wouldn’t. Don’t think for a minute that you can put something over on God for He knows everything we do and has it all written down.
You might think surely a pastor wouldn’t need to repent; they may need it more than you do. When I do something wrong I alone am responsible for it, but when a pastor misleads his congregation, he not hurts only himself but everyone in the congregation. When you are taught the false traditions of men like Good Friday and pagan Easter. If you have studied your Bible, you should know that this is false teaching. Your Bible tells us that the word Easter is a mistake on the part of the translator, and the correct word is Passover. Pastors will not tell you this, but you can read it for yourself. The Moffitt translation has it right; he didn’t use the word Easter, he used the correct word Passover. Most of the translators used the word Easter, but they all tell you that the correct word is Passover. Do we believe man or God? Man will deceive you, but God never will. The choice is yours.
If your pastor tells you that you should repent, ask him or her to read Matthew 7:5 which says first cast out the beam of thine own eye; and then shall thou see clearly to cast out the mote that is in your brother’s eye. It is easy to see the faults of others, but sometimes it is hard to see our own.
If you attend church, you most likely give money to the church. If you do, you become a partaker of that false teaching. 1 Peter 4:17 states that judgment must first begin at the house of God. What kind of judgment are we expecting? There are a few churches out there that teach only God’s word and not the false traditions of men; that is what we all should be searching for.
