Illinois Valley Community College alumni Bill and Dian Taylor of Winnetka are supporting three accounting students at Northern Illinois University this year. Joining the Taylors at a recent reception at NIU are graduate student Tim Smith of Mendota (left), senior Aida Villalobos of Spring Valley and junior Braiden Skinner of Wenona. Each year, the Taylor award pays full tuition to an IVCC student transferring to NIU in accounting. The award is worth up to $25,000 over the student’s junior and senior years. This year, the Taylors also created a scholarship for an IVCC student transferring to NIU in a STEM-related field. In addition, the Taylors provide 10 $1,000 scholarships at IVCC each year and in 2012 made a $100,000 pledge to the Peter Miller Community Technology Center capital campaign. IVCC named its enrollment services area in the Peter Miller Community Technology Center the William and Dian Taylor Student Development Commons.
