WYANET — Paul "Gene" Bivins, 82, of Wyanet passed away Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, at his home.
Born Nov. 28, 1930, in Beech Creek, Ky., to Paul Anderson and Annie (Key) Bivins, he married Donna Lee Conley Feb. 21, 1974. She died April 29, 2013.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a retired operating engineer.
He was an active member of the Wyanet VFW.
Surviving are four children, Paula (Daryl) Wooden of Wyanet, Laurie (Russell) Wood of Henderson, Ky., Becky (Steve) Andrews of Buda and Carla (Larry Black) Blades of Princeton; one stepson, Beck Weaver of Naples, Fla.; 11 grandchildren, Dave Turpen, David Lewis Jr., Leanne Eckberg, Amy Reuter, Holly Blades, Jesse Weaver, Michael Blades, Justin Carroll, and Lucas, Betsy and Eli Wood; 25 great-grandchildren two sisters, Betty Jo Maynard and Barb Bivins; and one brother, Jack Bivins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 39 years, Donna Bivins; a brother; and a great-grandson.
Services will be at noon Wednesday at the Norberg Memorial Home, Princeton, with Chaplain TerryAnn Dumyahn officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery, Wyanet.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the funeral home.
