LAMOILLE — William V. Judy, 92, of LaMoille passed away Monday, Nov. 11, 2013, at St. Margaret's Hospital in Spring Valley.
Born April 29, 1921, in Marseilles to William V. and Mary Ella (Thomas) Judy Sr., he married Irma Dissinger Biers Oct. 27, 1989, in LaMoille. She survives.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific area of operation. He was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Elks Lodge, and was a former member of the Ottawa Rescue Squad. He was also a member of Community United Methodist Church in LaMoille. He previously lived in Spruce Creek, Fla., and Georgia, and moved to LaMoille in 2004.
Also surviving are three daughters, Sharon (Ron) Bruck of Ottawa, Nancy Miles of Ottawa and Patti Stillwell of Aurora, Colo.; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one brother, Danny Halverson of Plano; and three stepgrandchildren, Neil Biers, Kevin (Mary) Biers and Beverly (John) McCauley.
He was preceded in death by one son, Wayne; one daughter, Linda; one sister, Joyce; and five brothers, Don, Clayton, Jim, Ron and Marion.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the LaMoille Community United Methodist Church with Pastor Sangmyung Park officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
