PRINCETON — Seven ladies of American Legion Woman’s Auxiliary Unit 125 of Princeton filled 34 treat sacks for the local veterans in four nursing homes on Nov. 6.

Included in the sacks were snack chips, crispie treats, fruit cups, pudding cups, candies, special diet treats and cookies. Donations of sack items for the treat sacks are always needed and with Christmas coming up even more donations will be needed. For information, contact VA&R Chairman Clara Pease. A hand-made card by Kristi Johnson was also included in each sack.

“We do these workshops for our local veterans so they will not be forgotten and especially for Veterans Day,” Pease said.

The ladies meet once a month on the second Wednesday, with exception for the veterans workshops. Anyone interested in becoming a member of the Auxiliary unit should contact Carol Allicks at 815-872-7891 or call the post home at 815-872-1171 and leave a message.
