2013 All-BCR Football Team

Quarterbacks

Parker Neuhalfen (BV, Jr.): The fleet footed Storm signal-caller led the area in rushing for all backs, quarterbacks and running backs, with 140 attempts, 842 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also threw for 800 yards and nine touchdowns. He was a First Team Three Rivers North selection at both quarterback and defensive back.

Taggart Venegas (Hall, Sr.): The transfer from neighbor St. Bede became the quick leader of the Hall offense as quarterback. The senior southpaw threw for 1,288 yards and 15 touchdowns and rushed for 301 yards and three TDs. Strangely, he was overlooked for all-conference honors.

Jack Brady (SB, Jr.): Stepped in behind center for the Bruins as a junior and led an aerial attack with more than 1,800 yards passing and a school record 18 touchdown passes. Received Honorable Mention Three Rivers South honors.

Running backs

Justin Shaw (St. Bede, Jr.): The junior tailback led the Bruins with more than 800 yards rushing (4.8 ypc) and eight touchdowns. He also had a team-high five TD receptions to go with 29 receptions and 477 yards. Shaw was a First Team Three Rivers South selection.

Tommy Johnston (BV, Jr.): The double threat was the Storm’s leading ground-gainer with 634 yards and nine touchdowns rushing and hauled in team-highs for receptions (17), yards (354) and TDs (3). He earned First Team Three Rivers North honors.

Aaron Kerr (Hall, Sr.): The senior fullback picked up the tough yards for the Red Devils with 332 yards rushing and four touchdowns. He was a Second Team Three Rivers South selection.

Offensive linemen

Justin Buckman (BV, Sr.): The 6-foot, 220-pound senior tackle garnered Second Team Three Rivers North selection.

Trevor Case (Hall, Jr.): The 6-1, 220-pound junior tackle was a First Team Three Rivers South pick and will be the one coach Steve Smith will build around next year.

Michael Slingsby (St. Bede, Sr.): The 6-0, 320-pound senior took up a lot of space on the Bruins line and played it well, earning Second Team Three Rivers South honors.

Nathan Tonozzi (Hall, Sr.): The 5-10, 205-pound senior center earned First Team Three Rivers South honors on the offensive side of the ball.

Trevor Urbanski (Hall, Sr.): The Boss Hog Soldier for Hall, who manned tackle for the Red Devils, was an unanimous all-conference selection in the Three Rivers South. The 5-11, 235-pound senior was named as Hall’s Offensive Lineman of the Year.

Offensive ends

Collin Aimone (Hall, Sr.): The big-play threat for the Hall offense found the end zone seven times, ranked No. 1 among area wideouts. He had 25 receptions for 387 yards, receiving Honorable Mention Three Rivers South honors.

Sam Halm (St. Bede, Jr.): The junior wideout led the Bruins and all area receivers with 39 receptions, good for 539 yards and five touchdowns. He received Honorable Mention Three Rivers South honors.

Return specialist

Collin Aimone (Hall, Sr.): The Hall speedster found the end zone two times on kickoff returns, and he was recognized for unanimous First Team Three Rivers South selection.

Defensive linemen

Justin Buckman (BV, Sr.): The Storm senior was a Second Team Three Rivers North selection. Made 53 tackles, including 30 solos.

Matt Briddick (Hall, Sr.): The 6-5, 210-pound senior defensive end was a Second Team Three Rivers South selection. He had 70 tackles, including a team-high 10 for losses.

Trevor Urbanski (Hall, Sr.): The 5-11, 235-pound tackle makes the BCR two ways as a Second Team Three Rivers South selection on defense.

Logan Wilde (PHS, Sr.): The 5-9, 180-pound senior moved to defensive end where he received Second Team Three Rivers South selection.

Linebackers

Bryan Arteberry (BV, Sr.): The 6-0, 190-pound Storm senior was a First Team Three Rivers North selection. He had an area-high 87 tackles.

Michael Bellino (St. Bede, Sr.): The 6-5, 240-pound senior made his presence known in the middle of the Bruins defense, earning First Team Three Rivers South selection. Bellino also received All-State honors by the Illinois Football Coaches Association.

Sam Halm (St. Bede, Jr.): The St. Bede senior goes both ways in the BCR team, receiving Second Team Three Rivers South selection.

Nathan Tonozzi (Hall, Sr.): Hall’s man in the middle led the Red Devils with 82 tackles. The Red Devil middle linebacker and play caller received Honorable Mention Three Rivers South honors.

Defensive backs

Grant Garland (Hall, Sr.): The Hall senior had one interception and nine deflections as a Second Team Three Rivers South pick.

Parker Neuhalfen (BV, Jr.): Speed killed in the Storm’s defensive backfield where Neuhalfen came up with First Team Three Rivers North honors. He picked off three passes, returning one to paydirt.

Tucker Schoff (BV, Sr.): The Storm senior made 52 tackles with three fumble recoveries. He received Honorable Mention Three Rivers South honors.

J.J. Vaccaro (PHS, Sr.): The PHS senior made a big impact returning to the gridiron for the Tigers this fall, offensively and defensiving, receiving Second Team Three Rivers South selection at defensive back.

Punters

A.J. Gaeta (Hall, Jr.): The Hall big foot averaged 37.3 yards a kick, receiving First Team Three Rivers South honors.

Tommy Johnston (BV, Jr.): The Storm punter averaged 37.4 yards a kick, and proved to be instrumental in establishing field position. He received First Team Three Rivers North honors.

Honorable Mention
