PRINCETON — Alfred Ray Anderson, 66, of Princeton died at 3:59 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Born Nov. 10, 1947, in Marion, Ill. to Augustine and Mary (Bratten) Anderson, he married Gale Wheeler June 25, 1966, in Walnut. She survives.
He was a truck driver and retired from Double D in Peru in 2010. He was a member of Midwest Operating Engineers Local 150 and New Hope Church of the Nazarene in Princeton. He served as an E5 in the U.S. Army, Engineers, during the Vietnam era, 1964 to 1972.
Also surviving are on son, Tony (Rhonda) Anderson of Mattoon; two daughters, Lora (Thomas) Gramer of Princeton and Cindy (Scott) Rietgraf of Peru; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a very special cousin, Robin (Dave) Hendrix of Carterville; a granddog, Bob; three sisters, Julia (Chuck) Travis of Morris, Mary Paulette (Ernie) Barboza of DePue and Kathy Mayszak of Spring Valley; one brother, Rick (Luanna) Anderson of Spring Valley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Anita Walters; and one brother, Larry Anderson.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Princeton, with Pastor Laura Tanner officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Bureau, with military rites conducted by Princeton American Legion Post 125.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Richie Presthus, Chad Hall, Shawn Trim, Dakota Halisky, Larry Anderson, Justin Hill, Brian Woodin and Charlie Travis.
