MALDEN — Doris Louis Griffin, 89, of Malden passed away Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013, at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton.
Born Sept. 13, 1924, in Princeton to John P. Fenwick and Louise (Smith) Fenwick. she married She married John D. Griffin June 8, 1946, at the First Methodist Church in Princeton. He died Jan. 31, 1995.
She graduated from Malden High School 1942. She retired from Harper- Wyman after 30 years. She served in the WAVES during World War II in Jacksonville, Fla., as an aviation mechanic. She was a member of Malden Methodist Church.
Surviving are one son, Bill (Nancy) Griffin of Princeton; three grandchildren, Shawn (Tammy) Griffin of Malden, Lon (Tammi) Griffin of Cherry and Steven (Lisa) Griffin of Ridgecrest, Calif.; eight great-grandchildren, Tyler, Cody, Brock, Kayla, Brady, Riley, Patrick and Olivia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Martha Forristall and Mildred Borg; and one brother, Harold "Pat" Fenwick.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Norberg Memorial Home, Princeton, with Pastor Ronda Hollars officiating. Burial will be in the Malden Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
