PRINCETON — Chris Carey and Ian Cardosi decided to use their backgrounds in computers and electricity to open BC Tech Group at 727 S. Main St. in Princeton.
The men are the co-owners of the business that has been open since Aug. 1.
“I have worked on computers for 15 years at local businesses, while Ian is an electrician,” explained Carey.
Carey indicated the business’ philosophy is not selling customers equipment they don’t need.
“We want people to trust us that we won’t sell them stuff they don’t need,” he said. “We sell Dell computers and equipment but will work on any kind of computer.
BC Tech Group provides on-site service or will make service calls.
“We will also remove viruses in the shop or on-site,” he added. “We service many local businesses, the city of Princeton, the sheriff’s department and the health department,” he said.
“We also want to offer services to farmers with their technology like hooking up their Internet to a drier system, and home automation systems by controlling lights or thermostats through a phone,” said Carey. “We want to be players in that field of technology.
“We also work on mobile devices, tablets and service iPhones like repairing broken screens,” he added. “It may be easier to say what we don’t do. We don’t do website design or computer programming,”
The business’ hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The phone number is 815-915-8328. The business’ website address is www.bctechgroup.com while information is also available on its Facebook page.
Carol Loftus is the office manager while David Cotter and Carey are technicians.
