Ronald Wilson

BUDA — Ronald A. Wilson, 86, of Buda, formerly of Sheffield, died Friday, Jan. 10, 2014, at his home.

Ron was born July 25, 1927, in Whitewater, Wis., the son of Alvin and Tillie (Dunbar) Wilson. He married Patricia Dean on Dec. 27, 1951, in Sheffield. She died on July 25, 2002.

Ron served in the U.S. Navy for 23 years, serving during World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He then worked in hyperbaric medicine at Millard Fillmore Hospital in Buffalo, N.Y.

Ron was a member of Bunker Hill Church in Buda and he loved his family, especially the grandchildren.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Timothy Wilson and Vilma Dydas of Elgin; a daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Rodney Rediger of Buda; and six grandchildren, Jordan, Jace, Andy, Becca, Adele and Abigaile.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Bunker Hill Church, Buda, with Pastor Stephen Myong officiating. Inurnment will be in the Sheffield Cemetery, Sheffield, with military honors by Sheffield American Legion Post.

A memorial visitation will be one hour prior to the services Tuesday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the Buda or Sheffield rescue units.
