SPRING VALLEY — The new Hall High School construction project is heading toward work on bid Package 2 in early February. Work on bid Package 1 (mass excavation) was slowed down by the severe weather, but excavation and the rerouting of sewer lines has been completed; all that remains is about 10 days of additional building up of the footprint and pad. Hall officials are confident the work for Package 1 will be complete in time for Package 2 work to begin in early February.
Submission for bid Package 2, which includes concrete work for footings and foundations, precast wall construction, structural steel, elevator construction and waterproofing, were opened on Jan. 8.
Leopardo Construction and Healy, Bender architects are currently reviewing the bids and will recommend the lowest and responsible bids to the Hall Board at its regular meeting on Wednesday. With board approval, work for bid Package 2 will begin in early February.
The new school project continues to be on schedule for the projected opening in August of 2015.
