Princeton woman dies in Ohio crash

PRINCETON — A Princeton woman has been killed in a two-vehicle traffic crash near Dayton, Ohio.

According to the Dayton Daily News in Dayton, Ohio, Marthanne Morton, 65, of Princeton was involved in a head-on collision in the early morning hours of Wednesday on U.S. Route 35, west of the town of Eaton, in the southwestern portion of the state.

According to the Dayton Daily News article, deputies said a Pontiac Vibe driven by 20-year-old Devon Covington of Richmond, Ind., was traveling eastbound on U.S. Route 35 and went left of center striking the Chevrolet Impala driven by Morton.

According to the article, Morton was lifeflighted to Miami Valley Hospital where she later died. Her passenger, 71-year-old Mary Ann Hogan, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Reid Memorial Hospital. Covington was treated at Miami Valley Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

All three occupants were wearing seat belts, deputies said.

A cause of the crash remains under investigation, but deputies do not believe alcohol contributed to the crash. Citations in the crash are pending further investigation.
