Iowa teen enters guilty plea

PRINCETON — An Iowa teen has entered a guilty plea in Bureau County Court to the Class 2 felony of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

The 17-year-old of Lorimar, Iowa, entered an open plea of guilty to the Class 2 felony on Jan. 17 before Circuit Judge Marc Bernabei, who ordered the probation department to conduct a pre-sentence investigation and set a sentencing hearing for 10:15 a.m. March 7.

The teen was represented in court by Public Defender Michael Henneberry. Prosecuting the case was State’s Attorney Patrick Herrmann.

On July 3, 2013, it was reported to the Bureau County Sheriff’s Department that a 7-year-old Bureau County female was sexually abused by the teen.

Upon investigation by the Bureau County Sheriff’s Department, it was determined he had sexual contact with the victim but without penetration.

The teen was arrested July 10, 2013.
