PRINCETON — Lois Mae Rettke, 94, of Princeton passed away on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, at Walnut Manor Nursing Home after a brief illness.
She was born on Feb 6, 1919, in Sheffield, to Orlie and Ida (Vickrey) Kolp. She married Arthur Rettke on June 21, 1941, in Princeton. He preceded her in death on Jan. 30, 1994.
She attended school to the ninth grade. She worked at Harper Wyman and worked as a nurse's aide at Prairie View. She loved the farm life.
She is survived by one daughter, Mary Ann Tornow of Princeton; one granddaughter, Tammie (Robert) Peebles of Walnut; and one sister, Marcella Mattingly of Walnut.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arthur; two brothers, Lowell and Lavern Kolp; one sister, Marjorie Carey; and one grandson, Troy Bradley Tornow.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, Feb. 1, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Norberg Memorial Home.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, at the Norberg Memorial Home. Pastor Scott Schmidt will officiate. Burial will follow in the Walnut Cemetery on Feb. 1.
