Friday night sports update

J.J. Vaccaro's 3-pointer at the buzzer came a little too late as St. Bede held off host Princeton 52-50 at Prouty Gym Friday night.

Jack Brady led the Bruins (12-9) with 23 points. Vaccaro led the Tigers (4-19) with 16 points, capped with 12 points in the fourth quarter with four treys.

PHS won the sophomore game 56-52. Jake Reinhardt had 20 points and Skye Behrends 17 for the Kittens.

In the Valley, the Hall Red Devils post a 76-59 win over Sherrard at Red Devil Gymnasium.

In other Three Rivers South Division play, No. 1 ranked Rockridge made a statement with a resounding 102-48 win over No. 6 ranked and host Kewanee.

On the other side of the Three Rivers, Bureau Valley knocked off Morrison 66-44 in the North Division.

L-P slipped past Streator 54-49 and Ottawa topped Geneseo 61-50.

Somonauk defeated Newark 64-47 to capture the Little Ten Conferece Tournament championship at Somonauk. Indian Creek beat Paw Paw 60-56 for third place.

In the Lincoln Trail Conference Tournament, Wethersfield beat Annawan 70-65 and Galva edge Stark Countgy 58-54. Wethersfield and Galva will meet for Saturday's championship at Princeville.
