BV plans Foreign Language Fair

Bureau Valley High School's German Club will participate in the Foreign Language Fair, and they will showcase traditional food and dances.

MANLIUS — The German and Spanish clubs at Bureau Valley High School are preparing for their Foreign Language Fair Feb. 27.

The event will feature food from Spanish and German speaking countries. The Spanish Club table will feature beef tacos, chicken fajitas, sides of beans, rice, chips and salsa. Ther German Club table will serve bratwurst, hot dogs, beef goulash, hot German potato salad and red cabbage. Desserts include black forest torte and Spanish pastries. The a la carte meal costs between $4 and $8.

Spanish student Caitlin Scott will sing "Gyantanamera" and Roni Riggen, a Mexican Foreign exchange student, will perform "Algo Mas." Both clubs wil showcase traditional dances.

There will be a craft table, where children of all ages can frost gingerbread cookies, create maracas and festival masks. The crafts are free.

Doors open at 5 p.m. Food service and entertainment begin at 5:30 p.m. Admission for adults is $1 and children and students are free.
