Optimists sponsor essay contest

PRINCETON — The Princeton Optimist is sponsoring an essay contest for students who are under age 19 and have not yet graduated from high school.

The essay must be between 700 and 800 words in length, typed and double spaced. This year’s topic is “How Dreams Lead to Success.” The winner of the local contest will be entered into the Optimist District Contest, where the winner will win a $2,500 scholarship.

Official entry forms and specific contest rules can be obtained from Gary Patterson, 715 N. Linn, Princeton, IL 61356.

The entry must be submitted by Feb. 21 by sending it to Gary Patterson.

The local winner will receive a medallion and a $100 gift certificate.
