Camera Club meeting

PRINCETON — The Photography Unlimited Camera Club will meet Wednesday in the Bureau County Republican’s meeting room in Princeton. Note that the meeting start time has been moved back to 7:30 p.m. The program will be “Photographing Table Top Displays.” Bring camera, tripod, manual and, if you would like, bring a table top display to photograph. Any subject is welcome. Reminder that the March challenge topic is “Babies” so be taking your baby pics now for that meeting. Anyone interested in photography is invited to attend.

BCGS meeting

PRINCETON — The Bureau County Genealogy Society will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Society Library at 629 S. Main St. in Princeton. The program speaker will be Floyd Ham, a member of the Henry County Genealogical Society. His topic will be “Illinois Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Genealogy.” This program is free and open to the public.

Rummage sale

PRINCETON — The Princeton Veterans Group, American Legion Post 125, AMVETS Post 180 and VFW Post 4323 will hold another winter rummage sale on Friday and Saturday at the Legion Post Home, 1549 W. Peru St., Princeton. Hours will be 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. This is a major fundraiser for the group so they can continue their veterans program for local veterans. Democrats meeting

DEPUE — The DePue/Bureau County Democrats will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in DePue at the VFW Hall across from the lake. The speaker will be Mike Kohr, county board member from District 18. Tacos will be served after the meeting.

Wine and paint classes

PRINCETON — The Prairie Arts Council will offer wine and paint classes from 6:30 to 9 p.m. every first and third Wednesday of the month through April at the Prairie Arts Center, 24 Park Ave. East in Princeton. Instructor Melody Best will guide participants through the featured painting of the evening. Wine, music, food and all supplies are provided in the cost. Everyone will finish a ready-to-frame painting. The cost is $35 per session. Registration is required at least three days prior to the evening of your choice by calling 815-875-2787.

Widmark group to meet

PRINCETON — The Richard Widmark Centennial Committee will meet at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Princeton Public Library’s Historical Research Room. The public is invited to attend and get involved.

Spelling bee

PRINCETON — The Bureau County Spelling Bee will be held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the Metro Center in Princeton.

Tea Party meeting

PRINCETON — We the People Tea Party will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the Prouty Building, 435 S. Main St., Princeton. The four republican candidates for Bureau County Sheriff will explain their vision for the county and answer questions.

Fish fry

OHIO — The Ohio Booster Club will hold a fish fry from 4:30 to 7 p.m. March 7. Serving will be at Ohio Schools and Pipe’s Pub on Main Street.
