Tuesday night hoops update

No. 1 ranked Rockridge downed Princeton 68-31 at Prouty Gym Tuesday. PHS (5-21) will be idle until regional play next Tuesday back at Prouty Gym.

The PHS sophomores end the season with a 43-29 win to capture the TRAC South championship.

At Manlius: Sterling Newman beat BV 78-60 at the Storm Cellar to cop the TRAC North championship.

1A girls sectionals

At Granville: Annawan beat Serena 89-42 while host Putnam County toppled Indian Creek 73-26 in sectional semifinal play. They will meet in Thursday's finals at RM Germano Gymnasium.

Annawan was led by seniors Sierra Davis with 25 points and Megan Foes with 23. Leading scorer for Serena was Reilly Martin with 15 pts.

Leading scorers for Putnam County were Daniela Pavlovich with 24 points and Allison Voss with 13. Leading scorer for Indian Creek was Josie Diehl with 8 points.

At Forreston: Amboy beat Dakota 31-30 in sectional semifinal play Tuesday. The Lady Clippers avance to Thursday's sectional finals vs. Lanark Eastland, a 42-32 winner over Galena.

2A girls sectionals

At Minonk: Three Rivers South champ Sherrard topped Peoria Christian 52-36. Riley Stangard led Sherrard with 15 points, Shelby Calderone had 13 points and Chelsey Crippen added 11.

The Tigers (28-2) will meet El Paso-Gridley, a 55-50 winner over Carthage Illini West in Thursday's sectional finals. EPG, the defending sectional champion, placed third at State a year ago.

At Aurora: Three Rivers North champ Prophetstown advanced to the sectional finals with a 62-57 winner over Oregon. The Prophets will face defending sectional champ Byron, which was a 62-36 winner over host Aurora Christian.
