Girls sectional update

No. 1 ranked Annawan doubled up on host Putnam County with Cearra Davis and Celina VanHyfte each scoring 29 points in an 80-50 Bravettes' win.

With its third straight sectional championship, Annawan (27-4) advances to the Bloomington Super-Sectional to face Cissna Park at 7 p.m. Monday. Cissna Park was a 46-43 winner over host Iroquois West at the Gilman Sectional finals.

The Three Rivers Conference won one of three sectional title games Thursday.

At Minonk: Three Rivers South champ Sherrard lost to El-Paso Gridley 49-47 in double overtime in the Fieldcrest 2A sectional finals. Mackenzie Hickey hit the game winner as time expired.  She also hit the game tying shot from the right baseline at the end of the first overtime.

EPG also knocked out Sherrard in last year's sectional finals.

At Aurora: Three Rivers North champ Prophetstown outlasted Lanark Eastland 55-53 at Aurora Christian. The Prophets (27-2) will face EPG at the Monmouth Super-Sectional Monday night for the right to go to State.

At Forreston: Amboy fell to Lanark Eastland 55-54 in overtime. Eastland's H. Hake scored all five of Eastland's points in overtime including a free-throw with no time on the clock.
