Tiskilwa village employees Rick Funderberg and John Nye (in the backhoe) work Thursday to break up the ice outside a Tiskilwa home where the yard was flooded when melting snow and ice caused the creek to overflow its banks. Two homes had water in their basements as a result of Thursday morning’s overflowing creek water. Mayor Randy Philhower and village employees worked to ensure the creek remained open downstream to alleviate any further backup.
