PRINCETON — Members of American Legion Woman’s Auxiliary Unit 125 of Princeton gathered Feb. 12 at the post home to conduct their monthly veterans workshop.

Thirty-two Valentine-themed bags were filled with fresh fruit, snack cakes, special diet treats, chips, candies, homemade cookies and conversations hearts. A special-made Valentine card was also included in the bags, created by Kristi Barajas, granddaughter of Clara Pease, VA&R chairman.

The Auxiliary members conduct the monthly workshops as a way of saying “thank you” to the veterans for their service and protecting our freedoms. The Unit serves veterans in four nursing homes in the community.

VA&R (veterans) information can be had by calling Clara Pease at 815-872-0430. Membership information is available by calling Carol Allicks at 815-872-7891 in the evening. All monetary donations for the Auxiliary work can be mailed to Clara Pease, 321 Briar Lane, Princeton, IL 61356; or to ALA 125, 1549 W. Peru St., Princeton, IL 61356, Attn: Veterans.
