Auxiliary, Legion will meet on Wednesday

PRINCETON — American Legion Woman’s Auxiliary Unit 125 of Princeton will conduct its monthly business meeting at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the post home, 1549 W. Peru St. in Princeton. Please note the time change.

The agenda will address the upcoming poppy meeting to be held Sunday in Mt. Sterling at the courthouse beginning at 1 p.m. Handouts were presented at February’s meeting. The annual Patriotic Conference will be March 15 at The Chateau in Bloomington. Handouts in regards to this meeting were passed out at February’s meeting.

The poppy weekend was announced to be that of May 23 and 24. Members are asked to get permission to be at the business address of their choice early. Any member may be out in the public with the poppies of the date(s) of their choice.

Any eligible candidate interested in joining Unit 125 should attend this or any regular scheduled meeting at 10 a.m. on the second Wednesday of the month at the post home or call membership chair Carol Allicks at 815-872-7891 in the evenings. For VA&R information, call Clara Pease at 815-872-0430 in the evenings.

Memorial Day services will take place May 26 beginning at 8 a.m. at Oakland Cemetery. Members should dress in blue uniforms with caps and white gloves, and ties are required.

Upcoming nomination and elections will take place in May and or June with the end of year report to follow the annual unit audit.

The Roger L. Eickmeier American Legion Post 125 of Princeton will conduct its monthly business meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the post home.

The usual and customary business will be heard, including the recent fundraiser held at the post home in late February and early March.

Any eligible candidate for membership is encouraged to attend this or any regular business meeting held on the second Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the post home. For Legion information, call the post home at 815-872-1171 and leave a message.

Light desserts will be served after the meeting.
