Green gets prison term

PRINCETON — A Bureau County man has been sentenced to five years in the Illinois Department of Corrections after pleading guilty in Bureau County Court to the Class 3 felony of possessing child pornography.

Jamie L. Green, 34, currently of the Illinois Department of Corrections and formerly of DePue, entered his guilty plea on Feb. 27 before Associate Circuit Judge C.J. Hollerich. Green was sentenced to serve five years in prison and ordered to pay fines, fees and court costs totaling $1,692. His sentence will run concurrent with the seven-year sentence he received on June 4, 2013, for aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

In March 2013, the DePue Police Department and Bureau County Sheriff’s Department led an investigation regarding allegations of sexual misconduct by Green. Green was arrested March 21, 2013, on charges of aggravated criminal sexual abuse and a search warrant was executed, resulting in the seizure of a computer at Green’s residence.

The computer was examined at the Illinois State Crime Lab following the seizure of Green’s computer. After examining the contents of the computer, authorities determined the computer contained images of child pornography. Green was indicted by the Bureau County grand jury on Oct. 15, 2013, for child pornography.
