Ernie has three children, Edward Ernst of Kalama, Wash., Rebecca Vail of Blooming Prairie, Minn., and Lora Warren of Princeton; nine grandchildren, Jason Ernst, Phill Ernst, Katy Ernst, Amanda Vail, Kristin Vail, Samantha Warren, Jacob Warren, Matthew Warren and Nicolas Warren; and three great-grandchildren, Faith, Devon and Connor Ernst.

After serving in the Navy during World War II, Ernie went to college at Culver Stockton and then went on to earn his master’s degree in biology at Western Illinois University. After teaching high school for a few years, he found his true calling was being a salesman. He served the granite industry for most of his life as a representative of several manufacturers to the monument dealers throughout the Midwest.

Cards and well wishes would be appreciated and may be sent to: Ernie Ernst, 508 Park Ave. East, Princeton, IL 61356.
