TISKILWA — Larry Lee Nevitt, 72, of Tiskilwa passed away Monday, March 3, 2014, at his home in Tiskilwa.
He was born Jan. 2, 1942, in Princeton to James V. and Francis (Greenback) Nevitt. He attended Tiskilwa High School and was in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1959 to 1963. He retired in 2002, after 22 years, as a diesel mechanic for Pilot and Road Ranger. He loved to fish, mushroom hunt and arrowhead collect.
He is survived by his four children, Ann Nevitt of Golden, Colo., Tim Nevitt and Randy Nevitt, both of Tiskilwa, and Wendy Nevitt Coll of Bagley, Iowa; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters, Barb Schmitt of Tiskilwa, Rita Salsman of Tiskilwa and Linda Roberts of Buda; and two brothers, James Nevitt of Slidell, La., and Danny Nevitt of Florida.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister, two brothers, one nephew and one great-granddaughter.
A Celebration of Life will be from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, March 11, at the Norberg Memorial Home in Princeton. Burial will be private and at a later date.
