Lincoln Elementary School children greet Private G.I. “Gabe” Stites with a patriotic song and flag-waving Tuesday afternoon at the Princeton school. Stites, who is flanked in photos by his mother, Jody Stites, has been corresponding with Lincoln’s second-grade classroom taught by Heidi Anderson, in which Jody Stites is a teacher’s aide. A May 2013 graduate of Princeton High School, Stites, 19, now of Wyanet, recently graduated from the U.S. Marine Corps boot camp in California. Following 10 days on leave, the Marine will report to Camp Pendleton.
