OGLESBY — Gail K. Kastor, 70, of Oglesby passed away Saturday, March 8, 2014, at his home.
He was born Jan. 27, 1944 in Princeton to Kenneth R. and Edna L. (Johnson) Kastor. He graduated from Malden High School in 1962. He married Carolyn Pyron on Dec. 30, 1991, in Princeton. He farmed and was an over-the-road truck driver for 33 years. He enjoyed tractor pulling and was a member of the Illinois State Pullers Association. He loved his John Deere tractor, and was an avid Chicago Bears and Cubs Fan.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Kastor of Oglesby; his children, Rodney (Tammy) Kastor of Princeton, Rita (Todd) Poruba of Princeton, daughter-in-law Lee Kastor of Oklahoma, Barb (Steve) DeLeon of Texas, Selena Stehn of Texas and Robert Pyron of Texas; his grandchildren, Jacob Kastor of Princeton, and Alex Rincones, Steven DeLeon, Warren Stehn, Clayton Pyron, Lainey Pyron and Mollie Pyron, all of Texas; three brothers, Neil (Mary) Kastor of Florida, Randy (Gayle) Kastor of Batavia and Ron (Betty) Kastor of Arlington; the mother of his children, Carol Fisher; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Roy Kastor.
Services will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, at the Norberg Memorial Home, Princeton, with Marc Straun officiating. Burial will be private and at a later date.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to American Cancer Society or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
