Plunging for a cause

Illinois Valley Community College’s student group, Tomorrow’s Educators: Aware, Connected, Hopeful (TEACH), participated with L-P High School and Project Unify in the recent 2014 Polar Plunge outside Yorkville, raising $1,225 as a team for Special Olympics. Participating volunteers are Brianna Bertolino (from left), Sara Turinetti and Melanie Franklin, all of Peru, Jonathon Click of Princeton, Liz Rice of Magnolia and Tony Bertolino of Peru. Co-advisors for TEACH are Jill Urban-Bollis, educational psychology instructor and education program coordinator, and Tina Hardy, disability services coordinator and education instructor.
