PRINCETON — Aaron James Porter, 42, of Princeton, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2014.
He was born on May 28, 1971, in Kewanee to Eric and Patti (Roberts) Porter. He graduated from Princeton High School in 1989, from Illinois Valley Community College in 1991 and attended Northern Illinois University from 1991 to 1996. He married Brenda Anne Burris on Oct. 10, 1998, in Joliet. He worked in sales for major corporations selling HVAC equipment.
Aaron was very artistic, and loved gaming, music, art and computers. He was an avid Chicago Blackhawks, Bears, Bulls and Cubs fan. He suffered from Huntington's Disease.
He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Peoria.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Porter of Peoria; one daughter, Anya E. Porter at home; his mother, Patti (Sean) Moynihan of Princeton; his father, Eric (Amy) Porter of Tiskilwa; one brother, Sam Porter of Tiskilwa; one sister, Amber Porter; and his maternal grandmother, Nettie Marie Dawson of Princeton. He is also survived by four aunts, Kay (Gary) Fulkerson, Susan (Bob) Johnson, Judi (Rick) Torricelli and Krista Porter; three uncles, Dennis (Diana) Roberts, Daniel (Cindy) Roberts and Leif Porter; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Zoe M. Porter in 2005; his maternal grandfather, James Roberts; his stepgrandfather, Warren Dawson; his paternal grandparents, Jerry and Bob Porter; and two uncles, Mike Porter and Norm Porter. Both his grandmother, Jerry, and uncle, Norm, both suffered from Huntington's Disease.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 22, at the Norberg Memorial Home, Princeton, with Pastor Norman Femrite officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 22, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be directed to the family to be put in a trust for his daughter, Anya.
